Maxalto at Milan Design Week 2026

mdw 26 June 2026
 |

Maxalto choose Milan Design Week 2026 to present a new vision of domestic elegance. The collection, La Parenthèse de Lumière, designed and coordinated by Antonio Citterio, is conceived as a reflection on light, not merely as a physical element, but as a design language capable of redefining forms, surfaces, and relationships between furnishings.
At the heart of the new collection lies a carefully balanced dialogue between monumentality and lightness, material research and architectural precision. New products and range extensions reinforce Maxalto’s identity through a sophisticated vocabulary of pure volumes, precious finishes, and highly complex construction details. Antonio Citterio describes the project as a work centered primarily on materials: surfaces that do not seek to blend into their surroundings, but rather engage openly with the space, whether classic or contemporary.

Among the most significant introductions is Luminor, a new storage collection that marks the first use of PVD technology within the Maxalto universe, available in yellow gold and rose gold finishes. Originally developed by Arclinea for high-end kitchens, the technology is reinterpreted here for living and dining environments. Luminor combines rigorous design, advanced technologies, and luxurious materials in a family of pieces with a strong architectural character: vertical and horizontal sideboards featuring reflective surfaces, enhanced by bronze glass tops and maple frisé details. A substantial plinth visually lightens the volumes, giving the pieces an almost sculptural presence.
The exploration of monumentality continues with Kalystrus, a new table collection that investigates the expressive potential of the conical form. Available in elliptical and circular versions, the tables are distinguished by sculptural bases that become true focal points within a space. Wood and marble coexist in a refined dialogue, ranging from oak and wengé finishes to Arabescato Vagliato, Calacatta, and Marquinia marble surfaces. Particularly noteworthy is the combination of a wooden top with natural travertine legs, a solution that highlights the harmonious contrast between warm textures and the mineral character of stone.

Alongside these new products, Maxalto is also expanding several existing collections. Artemone evolves the traditional concept of the contemporary dining cabinet with a new horizontal configuration designed to interact seamlessly with the dining area. Available with various combinations of doors, drawers, and customizable modules, the piece reinterprets elements of 1960s design through a contemporary lens. New finishes, ranging from oak veneers to shellac lacquers, reinforce the idea of a storage system that is both elegant and highly functional, naturally fitting into modern interiors.
Ares is also renewed through new proportions and material variations that enhance the iconic strength of the original design. New 300 cm and 350 cm versions lighten the visual language of the historic X-shaped structure while preserving its expressive solidity. Polished Arabescato Vagliato marble tops, together with Calacatta and Marquinia variants, emphasize the dialogue between the structural presence of wood and the luminosity of stone, transforming the table into a centerpiece of the living area.

With La Parenthèse de Lumière, Maxalto once again demonstrates its ability to combine craftsmanship, industrial innovation, and design culture. Presented during Milan Design Week 2026, the collection does more than expand the brand’s catalogue, it establishes a new aesthetic grammar in which light, materiality, and architecture coexist in perfect balance.
