Milan Design Week 2026

For Milan Design Week 2026, Cassina explores “material intelligence”, an approach where architecture, objects, and surfaces dissolve into a singular visual language. Under the banner The Cassina Perspective 2026, the collection unfolds less as a traditional presentation and more as an immersive domestic narrative, where colour, texture, and form establish a continuous dialogue between heritage and experimentation. Every room becomes part of a carefully orchestrated atmosphere, balancing theatricality with restraint.
At the centre of the presentation is Ardys, the new upholstered system by Patricia Urquiola, whose soft, enveloping forms dictate the visual rhythm of the store itself. Wall reliefs echo the sofa’s modular geometry, while lacquered surfaces subtly reference the renewed finishes introduced this year, including those applied to Charlotte Perriand’s Plana coffee table. Urquiola’s contribution extends beyond furniture into the architectural language of the showroom, reinforcing Cassina’s ability to merge product design with spatial storytelling in a seamless way.
A new compelling design emerges through Ghost-Wall, the interior system designed by Mikal Harrsen. Traversing the store from living and dining spaces to the bedroom and walk-in wardrobe, the project functions almost like an invisible architecture, adaptable, fluid, and deeply integrated within its surroundings. Here, surfaces are enhanced by wallpaper designed by Patricia Urquiola that creates an uninterrupted visual continuity throughout the space.
Colour plays an unexpectedly emotional role within the collection. A staircase wrapped in aubergine faux fur introduces a tactile intensity that contrasts with the luminous yellow room dedicated to lighting design, where creations by Charles Eames, Ray Eames, Neri & Hu, Angelo Mangiarotti, and Linde Freya Tangelder engage in a sophisticated conversation between eras and sensibilities.
Meanwhile, beneath the store’s iconic dome, six emblematic pieces upholstered entirely in olive-toned velvet create a striking monochromatic installation that reinforces the timeless relevance of Cassina’s design language.
The broader collection reflects the eclectic vision that has long defined The Cassina Perspective. New projects by Chiara Andreatti, Formafantasma, Gaetano Pesce, and Philippe Starck coexist within intimate residential settings that privilege atmosphere over spectacle. Particularly notable are the
latest additions from Karakter x Cassina, including Aldo Bakker’s sculptural AB Dining table paired with the reissued CH66 chair by Nicos Zographos. Elsewhere, Verner Panton’s dramatic Peacock Chair returns in celebration of the centenary of the Danish designer’s birth, while Gianfranco Frattini’s 780/783 tables appear in renewed finishes marking one hundred years since the architect’s birth.
Beyond interiors, Cassina extends its vision outdoors. The new Outdoor Collection creates a suspended moment of calm, where comfort and material refinement shape an atmosphere of understated luxury.
