Casa Italia: A vision of hospitality and cultural expression

For the first time in the history of the Winter Olympics, Casa Italia, the institutional project promoted by CONI to host athletes, teams and guests, opened its doors to the public. No longer solely a hospitality house, it evolved into a multi-site cultural platform across Milan, Cortina d’Ampezzo, and Livigno.
Guided by a unifying concept, the three locations, Triennale Milano, the Aquagranda Olympic Preparation Center in Livigno, and Farsettiarte in Cortina d’Ampezzo, were transformed into immersive environments where sport, art, architecture, design and gastronomy converged.
This approach allowed Casa Italia to express the many facets of contemporary Italian identity, celebrating not only athletic excellence but also the country’s creative and cultural heritage.

Italian Design at the heart of the Olympic Experience

A distinctive aspect of Casa Italia was the role played by the excellence of Made in Italy design in shaping its spaces: iconic architectures and historic venues were enhanced with design pieces selected from some of the industry’s leading brands, creating environments that combined functionality, aesthetics, and a strong sense of belonging.

Among the key furnishing partners were:
Edra, Official Partner of Casa Italia, with a selection of iconic furniture and seating designed to welcome athletes and visitors into contemporary and comfortable settings.
B&B Italia, featured with historic pieces and emblematic collections, such as Camaleonda, Husk, Lady Fat, and others which furnished living areas and lounge spaces.
Ethimo, with selections of outdoor furniture aligned with the Italian lifestyle, used for meeting and relaxation areas.
• Partners such as Poltronova, Glas Italia, Riva 1920, Gufram, Meritalia, and Flos (for lighting), which helped create sensory and evocative pathways that interacted with the spaces and the history of the Olympic venues.

These brands did not simply “fill” the spaces: they transformed each environment into a stage for creativity, where design expressed values of hospitality and conviviality, as well as performance and innovation, within an international setting.
