THE PRIVATE LIVES OF OBJECTS FROM FLEXFORM

Milan Design Week 2026

For Milan Design Week 2026, Flexform continued its exploration of domestic living through pieces conceived to accompany everyday life with discretion and permanence. Presented under the title The Private Lives of Objects, the collection reflected the company’s long-standing philosophy of comfort shaped through proportion, material quality and understated elegance. Across indoor and outdoor environments, the new designs proposed a vision of the home defined by intimacy, continuity and emotional connection.

At the center of the collection remained the dialogue between Flexform and Antonio Citterio, a collaboration that has defined the visual identity of the company for more than fifty years. Among the most significant introductions was Quincy, a new seating system conceived as the focal point of the living space. Defined by a continuous, enveloping structure that wraps around generous cushions, Quincy explores a softer and more organic design language while preserving the rigorous proportions that characterize Citterio’s work. The curved profile creates a sense of fluidity and movement, allowing the sofa to occupy the room as both an architectural element and a place of comfort. The project reflects Flexform’s ongoing research into increasingly welcoming forms, capable of balancing visual presence with everyday functionality.

The new collection also expanded the contribution of Patrick Norguet through the evolution of the Ozzy family. Originally conceived as a collection of dining seats distinguished by their essential lines and refined construction, Ozzy now welcomes a new dining armchair with a fully upholstered base. The addition introduces a warmer and more residential character to the collection, enhancing comfort while maintaining the visual lightness that defines the design. Through careful attention to proportions, upholstery and craftsmanship, the new version broadens the collection’s versatility and reinforces its suitability for contemporary dining environments.

Alongside established collaborations, Flexform continued to enrich its creative landscape through contributions from Fumie Shibata and Sebastian Herkner. Shibata’s work is characterized by simplicity and tactile sensitivity, while Herkner introduces a more sculptural dimension through generous volumes and sophisticated material combinations. Monica Armani, meanwhile, contributes a precise and elegant design language distinguished by balanced geometries and refined detailing.

Among the most notable new introductions was Margherì, Monica Armani’s outdoor collection inspired by the elegance of the Belle Époque. Characterized by softly curved silhouettes and intricate woven details, the collection translates a decorative historical reference into a contemporary outdoor language. The distinctive structure, enriched by handcrafted weaving and generous cushions, creates a refined balance between comfort and sophistication. Conceived to furnish terraces, gardens and hospitality settings with the same attention traditionally reserved for interiors, Margherì exemplifies Flexform’s approach to outdoor living, where durability, craftsmanship and aesthetic refinement
coexist seamlessly.
