Bhuri, meaning “earth” in Pāli, is a refined collection of designer carpets by Satyendra Pakhalé for Cappellini, inspired by a deep connection with nature. The collection transforms organic forms into sophisticated textile art, merging conceptual innovation with artisanal craftsmanship.
Each carpet is derived from unique watercolours painted by Pakhalé, inspired by the elements of water, air, and earth. Using a single brush on handmade cotton rag paper, a technique reminiscent of the Sumi-e painting tradition, he balances intention and spontaneity, creating abstract compositions translated into visually striking carpets.
Crafted in luxurious viscose and available in red, blue, and grey, Bhuri carpets turn expressive brushstrokes into vibrant textile surfaces, bringing elegance and sophistication to contemporary interiors.
