THE PRIVATE LIVES OF OBJECTS FROM FLEXFORM

Milan Design Week 2026

brand mdw 26 June 2026
 |

For Milan Design Week 2026, Flexform continued its exploration of domestic living through pieces conceived to accompany everyday life with discretion and permanence. Presented under the title The Private Lives of Objects, the collection reflected the company’s long standing philosophy of comfort shaped through proportion, material quality and understated elegance. Across indoor and outdoor environments, the new designs proposed a vision of the home defined by intimacy, continuity and emotional connection.

At the center of the collection remained the dialogue between Flexform and Antonio Citterio, a collaboration that has defined the visual identity of the company for more than fifty years. His new projects continued to refine the language associated with the brand through soft volumes, balanced silhouettes and carefully calibrated details. Upholstered systems emphasized flexibility and comfort, while maintaining the architectural precision that has become characteristic of Flexform interiors.

New Creative Voices and Evolving Design Perspectives

The 2026 collection also introduced new creative voices that expanded the company’s aesthetic vocabulary while remaining aligned with its essential spirit. Patrick Norguet brought a sense of clarity and structural lightness to his designs, focusing on fluid forms and carefully resolved proportions. Fumie Shibata approached furniture through simplicity and tactile sensitivity, creating objects shaped by quiet functionality and visual restraint.

Among the most significant new collaborations was the arrival of Sebastian Herkner, whose work introduced a more sculptural dimension to the collection through generous curves and rich material combinations. Monica Armani contributed pieces defined by graphic precision and refined surfaces, balancing softness with a clear architectural rhythm. Together, these additions reinforced the idea of a collection built through multiple perspectives connected by a common approach to comfort and craftsmanship.

Outdoor living also occupied a central role within the 2026 collection. Flexform continued its research into exterior environments conceived with the same attention traditionally reserved for interiors. Seating systems, tables and accessories were designed to create continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces through natural materials, muted tones and relaxed compositions. The outdoor pieces carried the same quiet sophistication found throughout the indoor collection, emphasizing durability, tactile quality and ease of use.
