Bhuri, meaning “earth” in Pāli, is a refined collection of designer carpets by Satyendra Pakhalé for Cappellini, inspired by a deep connection with nature. The collection transforms organic forms into sophisticated textile art, blending conceptual innovation with artisanal craftsmanship.
Each carpet originates from unique watercolors painted by Pakhalé, inspired by the fundamental elements of water, air, and earth. Using a single brush on handmade cotton rag paper, his technique, reminiscent of the Asian Sumi-e tradition, balances intention and spontaneity, resulting in abstract, poetic compositions.
Crafted from luxurious viscose and available in shades of red, blue, and grey, Bhuri carpets turn spontaneous brushstrokes into vibrant, expressive surfaces, enhancing contemporary interiors with elegance and sophistication.
