The Petra Red Tray, designed by AMDL Circle, the studio founded by Michele De Lucchi, is part of the Petra collection, a versatile series of marble objects conceived to combine everyday functionality with refined geometric design.
Each piece in the collection can serve as a tray, pen holder, pocket emptier, or decorative object, adapting to different uses according to personal interpretation and space. The project emerges from the meeting of marble’s solidity and a meticulous geometric composition, transforming functional items into sculptural design elements.
The surface is defined by the orthogonal overlapping of thin marble strips, creating a precise geometric decoration. Carefully arranged lines and squares play with optical perception, generating a dynamic interplay between solids and voids that changes depending on the viewing angle.
Crafted in red marble, this version stands out for its warm tones and expressive natural veining, bringing depth and character to desks, dining tables, and living spaces. Petra celebrates the inherent beauty of materials, central to AMDL Circle’s research, infusing everyday objects with decorative and architectural value.
