Astrum is a table designed by Antonio Citterio in 2017 for Maxalto that belongs to a collection of rectangular, round and oval tables distinguished by the particular "trestle" base. The support structure consists of a single die-cast aluminum upright painted in graphite or amber shade, which according to the shape of the table, is made up of two or three elements to form trestles: two elements connected by a crosspiece create the base for rectangular tables (width 100cm and three lengths 230, 280 and 340cm), while three elements connected to the base by a steel ring form the support for round tables (diameter 165 and 200cm). The triangular section of the upright offers lightness and robustness at the same time. The table tops come in different wood and marble finishes: Light brushed oak, Gray, Brushed and fumed black or in natural Wengé with a central Marble insert; White Calacatta, Black Marquinia, Green Guatemala and Emperador marble, all with glossy finish for a more exquisite expression of the table.
