The exhibition starts from the domestic space to investigate the evolution of the great Italian tradition compared to contemporary architecture.
« Our country has always been distinguished for the quality of the research and design of the house, adapting the concept of interior design from time to time to the needs of the contemporary society , which gradually evolved over the years. Today we work at home, live in office, study in old factories and creating libraries in deconsecrated churches. Each function takes a much-needed ability to be flexible, changeable, temporary, able to receive evolving functional codes in relation to a society that doesn’t have any certain reference model, otherwise it have to continuously adapt itself to changes. At the same time the Italian tradition has focused on the development and the sperimentation in the domestic space, as a form of resistance to the advancing of urban growth , thinking the house as a new starting point for contemporary architecture », explains Luca Molinari.
