Poltrona Frau Icons – 1919
The ‘1919’ armchair, named after the year in which it was designed, is actually archived under the code ‘128’. Although allegedly designed for a specific person, Filiberto Ludovico of Savoy, Duke of Pistoia, it was to become one of the first great public successes. A re-interpretation of the classic Bergere model, the ‘1919’ adds to its forefathers, with the strenght of its characteristics capitonnè working used on the backrest. A complementary little arm come as an optional accessory, designed to hold the Duke’s ashtray, as he was a famous cigar smoker.
