Kartell

the must-haves of technological innovation

With over 70 years of experience under its belt, Kartell has been a symbol of courage and technological innovation from the very beginning, pioneering the use of plastic materials for the production of furniture. The ongoing research and great collaborations with some of the most famous and established designers have turned the company into one of the undisputed leaders in the design market.

Even today, despite the many important results achieved, Kartell continues to be innovative and to look for unprecedented in order to offer fresh ideas capable of astonishing its customers. The great know-how gained over the years has enabled the company to operate in a very eco-friendly manner, minimizing waste and turning all those materials regarded as waste into recyclable items.

Designers such as Antonio Citterio, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Mario Bellini, Ferruccio Laviani and Vico Magistretti have worked with Kartell creating furniture that have left a lasting impression on the history of design thanks to their technological innovation and great aesthetic taste, always emphasising the symbolic material of this company: plastic.

Ghost Buster: the revisited dresser becomes a Kartell must-have

Ghost Buster, designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell, was born from the idea of reinterpreting the classic wooden dresser that is brought up to date thanks to the use of plastic material and the presence of rounded and harmonious lines offering new reflections capable of catching and captivating the eye. Ghost Buster is supported by four double-sided legs and consists of exposed shelves which are useful for storing a variety of objects. This particular item, thanks to its versatility, is perfect for both living and sleeping areas. The range of available colours offered by Kartell provides a wide choice and allows Ghost Buster to be perfectly integrated into any context. This particular object has also allowed Kartell to break down another wall by creating the largest plastic monoblock ever produced in the world of design.

Bourgie: baroque meets the future to become a best-seller

Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, Bourgie is one of Kartell’s most popular and best-selling lamps. The mix of technological innovation, classicism and a wealth of details make Bourgie a unique table lamp of its kind where we find a base worked in a very pronounced baroque style and a lampshade with a plissé effect workmanship such as to create, once lit, extraordinary effects of light in the room. Another peculiarity enclosed in this Kartell lamp lies in the possibility to adjust the height thanks to a special system allowing one to unfasten the shade and place it at three different heights depending on preferences and / or requirements. The amazing thing about the Bourgie lamp, besides its unmistakable style, is the incredible versatility offered by the finishes proposed; in fact, one can choose the transparent polycarbonate version or a variety of other solid colours (including chromium-plated ones) depending on the style and ambience one wishes to convey. In any case, Bourgie will be perfect everywhere, bringing the Kartell world into every home.

Masters: the union of icons becomes an icon itself

Having become an absolute icon of international design in just a few years, Kartell’s Masters chair, designed by Philippe Starck in 2010, has been a great success thanks to its very special composition and the concept behind its wonderful silhouette. The Masters chair incorporates and celebrates 3 of the most iconic chairs of all time such as the Tulip Armchair, the Eiffel Chair and the Series 7 celebrating the great masters of design such as Saarinen, Eames and Jacobsen respectively. The thin and tapered legs convey great lightness while the backrest, which embodies the lines of the three historical seats, is of unique refined elegance and creates a captivating style made of sinuous and dynamic shapes. The Masters chair by Kartell is made entirely of mass-coloured polypropylene which guarantees its lightness, practicality and the possibility of using it outdoors. There is a wide range of colours available and, for a more refined and elegant design, it is possible to choose them in a chrome-plated colours variant. Masters is the perfect chair for those who love the typical design and practicality of Kartell products.
