Filippo Carandini is an Italian designer and artist whose work seamlessly blends a refined sense of visual storytelling with a profound appreciation for artisanal craftsmanship. His creations are characterized by familiar volumes, vibrant color palettes, or striking black-and-white contrasts, rich, tactile materials, and subtle echoes of artistic references. These elements compose a distinctive visual language where asymmetry becomes a signature trait, and handmade details express a clear, confident vision.
Born in Fiesole in 1981 and educated at Central Saint Martins in London, Carandini began his career as art director for esteemed design studios such as Baleri Italia and Palomba Serafini Associati. In 2011, he founded his own studio in Milan, where he continues to live and work, engaging in both design and painting with the same poetic sensibility.
Recent years have marked a deepened focus on the creation and production of objects imbued with a strong artisanal component.
Carandini’s work is entirely conceived and produced in Italy, in close collaboration with skilled local craftsmen. Each object is designed to engage in a dialogue with its surroundings, fragmenting space through reflection and form, while preserving a tactile, deeply personal resonance.
