The Kiritam Table Lamp reflects the profound and experimental connection between Ettore Sottsass and the medium of glass, a relationship that began in the post-war years and, by the 1970s, evolved into an avant-garde exploration of form and colour.
In this phase, Sottsass composed basic geometric volumes into articulated, architectural structures, enhanced by vivid contrasts and refined material combinations. Kiritam embodies this approach with a sculptural yet balanced presence, where light becomes part of a carefully orchestrated composition.
The lamp features a varnished white metal base supporting a milk glass diffuser, delicately resting on a sapphire glass disc. The interplay of opacity and transparency creates a subtle chromatic vibration, transforming the object into a luminous architectural element.
More than a functional light source, Kiritam is a refined statement piece, an exploration of geometry, colour, and material harmony.
