Renzo Piano: my salary for young architects

The Generosity is just one of the many qualities of Renzo Piano. The archistar appointed senator for life by the President of the Italian Republic on August 30, 2013 has decided to donate his substantial salary as parliamentarian in favor of the young promises of architecture, engaged in urban regeneration projects .
The neosenator Piano expressed his noble “wish” in the last few days after the meeting with the Head of State Giorgio Napolitano : “I believe in the role of politics , which comes from polis , the city. And I think this is the right way to put my experience in service of the country. A beautiful country , but precisely for this reason it’s fragile and needy of protection”.

Among the initiatives that will be salaried by the Italian architect, has emerged the recovery of the suburbs and the consolidation of existing public facilities such as schools .

In his Palazzo Giustiniani office the life senator has already convened a working group made ​​up of work by people who have worked with him in the execution of important projects both in Italy and in the world .

This time, Renzo Piano, in addition to his experience, also puts his salary in service of the Country (an entrance that is about 13 thousand euro net per month).
