In the heart of Paris, within a prestigious building overlooking Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg, Dori Hitti Architects has completed a 370 sq m residence that masterfully explores the dialogue between French architectural heritage and contemporary living. Arranged over two levels, the project is distinguished by a measured design approach that enhances the historic identity of the interiors while embracing a sophisticated, functional, and distinctly contemporary vision.
Generous proportions, refined moldings, and abundant natural light define an interior of understated elegance, where a timeless palette of black-stained timber, travertine marble, and European oak parquet establishes a harmonious dialogue between the apartment's architectural legacy and a contemporary design language. Bespoke black timber shelving articulates the living spaces with remarkable lightness, framing new perspectives while functioning as architectural elements that showcase artworks and curated design pieces.
The furnishings, selected from the collections of Maxalto, Minotti, Poltrona Frau, Henge, and B&B Italia, reinforce the project's refined character through iconic pieces distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship. Neutral tones and natural finishes allow materials and artworks to take center stage, while an integrated lighting scheme subtly enhances textures and volumes, creating an intimate atmosphere despite the residence's generous scale.
The kitchen reflects the same principles of formal rigor and aesthetic continuity. Bespoke cabinetry by Molteni&C, paired with professional-grade Gaggenau appliances, transforms the culinary space into a seamless extension of the living areas, dissolving the boundaries between function and representation. In the private quarters, Rimadesio wardrobes integrate discreetly into the existing architecture, while textured wallpaper introduces a tactile dimension that enriches the interiors with warmth and material depth.
The bathrooms continue the project's pursuit of understated elegance. Antonio Lupi fixtures are paired with natural stone and soft daylight to create serene spaces where sculptural forms, authentic materials, and bespoke detailing define a refined wellness experience.
With this project, Dori Hitti Architects offers a contemporary reinterpretation of Parisian living, demonstrating how respect for architectural heritage can coexist with a rigorous and contemporary aesthetic. The result is a residence distinguished by an essential, sophisticated, and unmistakably modern design language.
