Marc Newson

Born in Sydney, Australia, Newson graduated from the University of Sydney in 1986. At 23, he held his first solo exhibition, and by 25, he had designed the now-iconic Lockheed Lounge, a chaise longue that has set auction records multiple times as the most expensive piece by a living designer. Marc Newson’s work is known for its blend of innovative design and luxury, making him a standout figure in the global design industry.

Marc Newson is regarded as one of the most influential designers of his generation, working across a wide range of disciplines. His impressive client list includes renowned brands such as Louis Vuitton, Montblanc, Hermès, Nike, Dom Pérignon, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Ferrari. He served as the creative director of Qantas Airways from 2005 to 2015 and played a key role in the design of the Apple Watch. Since then, he has been involved in Apple’s special projects, and in 2019, he co-founded the creative collective LoveFrom alongside Sir Jonathan Ive.
