Vincenzo de Cotiis

Born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Vincenzo De Cotiis is an Italian architect and designer universally considered one of the pioneers on the international design scene. His unique designs and products, manufactured primarily in limited editions, make him one of the most eclectic and sophisticated designers around. De Cotiis's works hover over the boundary between art and architecture where old and new are always clearly counterpoised.

Vincenzo De Cotiis received his degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan and founded his own design studio in 1997. Here he had the chance to experiment and implement the exploration and abstraction that still characterizes his creations to this day. His contribution to the field of Italian craftsmanship was so exceptional that it is often compared to that of great masters such as Gio Ponti and Carlo Scarpa.

De Cotiis is a designer who enjoys playing with refined and precious materials by treating them as much as possible within the production processes that make handiwork and craftsmanship their distinguishing features. During his career, Vincenzo De Cotiis has collaborated with companies that make these aspects their key strengths, including Baxter, Ceccotti Collezioni, Busnelli and many others. Some of his creations, blurring the borders between design and works of art, are exhibited in his personal gallery in Milan and presented at the most important trade shows in the world.
