Werner Aisslinger

Werner Aisslinger, born in 1964, is a designer renowned for his experimental and artistic approach, spanning industrial design and architecture. He incorporates cutting-edge technology in his work, introducing new materials to the design world, such as the "soft cell" collection and the "soft" chaise for Zanotta in 2000. His "Juli chair" for Cappellini was the first piece to use integral polyurethane foam and became the first German chair design included in MoMA New York's permanent collection since 1964. Aisslinger has won prestigious awards like the Compasso d'Oro, the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Red Dot Award, and the FX Award in the UK. His "loftcube" project is one of the most talked-about modular and transportable housing designs in recent years.

Aisslinger's work is part of the permanent collections of major international museums, including MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Fonds National d'Art Contemporain in Paris, the Museum Neue Sammlung in Munich, and the Vitra Design Museum in Germany. His recent work includes collaborations with Vitra, Foscarini, and Moroso.
