The Random Wood 2C Bookcase enhances the iconic Random concept with a two-column configuration and the refined warmth of wood. Defined by irregularly arranged shelves, it introduces rhythm, depth, and movement into the structure, transforming storage into a sophisticated architectural composition.
Designed by Neuland Industriedesign for mdf italia, Random became a bestseller and was selected in 2006 for the prestigious Compasso d'Oro ADI. This wooden two-column version reinforces its sculptural presence while adding material richness and tactile elegance.
Among the first bookcases conceived to display rather than conceal objects, Random redefined the relationship between storage and personal expression. Books, meaningful objects, and travel mementos find their place within its geometric grid, creating a curated narrative that reflects the individuality of its owner.
More than a functional container, Random Wood 2C is a modular design sculpture, a contemporary and expressive way of living with and interpreting the bookcase.

Details & finishing
Finish: Canaletto walnut Structure: 6 mm medium-density fiberboard (MDF) panels in Canaletto walnut finish. Back panel in 10 mm Canaletto walnut veneer. Shelves are integrated into the side panels through concealed dovetail joints. Predefined storage compartments. Feet: Adjustable feet up to 15 mm. Safety note: Wall anchoring is always recommended for safety reasons. Horizontal connection between bookcases is not recommended.
